Here’s why our technology is the best:

Firstly, we want to dispel some of the myths about plasma technology…

Proponents of other innovative technologies make claims about plasma's efficiency and viability at scale.

… and those claims may be true for other plasma tech companies …

and the truth is that our plasma system is the only destructive technology that is efficient and scalable with costs comparable to conventional technologies, such as GAC and IX.

With both GAC and IX, you have to dispose of or store the concentrated PFAS which is expensive. When you add up these costs, plus the initial costs of using those technologies, our plasma is the cheaper option.

Here are a few additional advantages that make our technology exceptional:

We have no waste streams.

Contaminated water in, decontaminated water out.

Our process does not produce waste streams because it’s destructive. The PFAS is degraded chemically, with almost full mineralization. There are other destructive technologies available, but they are riddled with economic and operational shortcomings that undermine their scalability. Our technology is the only destructive technology that can meet performance requirements at scale and with costs that are competitive with the concentrative technologies that are most commonly employed.

The current go-to technology to destroy PFAS is incineration, which costs about $8/gallon. This is about 10x what it costs us to break down the same concentrated brines, and about 100x what it costs us to treat low concentrate waters.

Nor do we use chemical inputs.

Again, contaminated water in, decontaminated water out… that’s it.

Our tech produces the required reagents in-situ – it doesn’t require chemical additives. Virtually all other destructive techs require large quantities of chemical feeds to enable the reactions that destroy PFAS, making them more expensive, less sustainable and less flexible regarding the logistics of deployment.

Struggling with short-chains?

We are The short-chain solution.

Dramatic? Yes. But we can’t stress this enough.

Plasma is known to be highly effective for long-chain PFAS,

but as with so many PFAS remediation technologies, it struggled to remove short-chain PFAS as efficiently, if at all.

Until now.

Our patent-pending plasma-based process is designed for improved short-chain removal, while still excelling at long-chain removal.

Shorter-chain PFAS are increasingly coming under regulatory scrutiny. All treatment technologies that can operate at scale, whether destructive or concentrative, struggle to remove short-chain PFAS at an appreciable rate. Our patent-pending technology is specifically designed to improve the selectivity towards short-chain PFAS, while still maintaining rapid destruction of the long-chain PFAS.

Co-contaminants? No problem.

Not only do co-contaminants not reduce the performance of plasma… the plasma will destroy them, too!

While most technologies, particularly adsorptive ones like IX and GAC, are less efficient when the water contains contaminants other than those that are targeted, the efficiency of our system toward the target pollutants is not affected by co-contaminants.

This lack of sensitivity to co-contaminants makes our system more efficient and applicable to more challenging water compositions. Additionally, our system is highly effective for degrading a broad range of those contaminants, so it doesn’t need to be combined with other treatment processes in a treatment train to remove all of the non-PFAS contaminants that are present.

High conductivity or unbalanced pH? No problem!

Unlike Ion Exchange processes, our plasma process is largely unaffected by conductivity and pH in the ranges found in ground and surface water.

Easy on, easy off.

Our process is nimble and adaptable.

Our process has an almost instantaneous startup. Some processes, especially those relying on high temperatures and pressures, can take days to initiate treatment. This makes them less reliable for intermittent operation, and less resilient to interruptions.

and last but not least…

Versatility.

We can come to you with a mobile PFAS treatment unit

or we can build you a permanent on-site reactor.

We can squeeze nicely into your previously existing treatment train…

or, depending on your needs, replace the whole thing.

You might’ve heard this by now… but we scale better than any other destructive technology. We can treat high volume or low volume at high or low concentration.
